Same-Day Care.
Same-day telemedicine appointments for cold, flu, sinus infections, sore throat, ear infections, COVID, and UTIs — most patients are seen and treated the same day they reach out, no office visit required.

Book NowWhat Qualifies for Same-Day Care.
These conditions work well for same-day telemedicine for a real reason: they're largely self-limiting, and a diagnosis usually comes from your symptoms and history rather than a hands-on exam — which is exactly what a virtual visit can cover. Below are the conditions Walk the Line sees most often on a same-day basis.
Cold & Flu
Colds and flu are both common respiratory illnesses, but they don't come on the same way — flu symptoms typically hit suddenly, while a cold usually builds gradually, according to the CDC.
Common flu symptoms:
- Fever or chills
- Cough and sore throat
- Runny or stuffy nose
- Muscle aches
- Fatigue
Because the diagnosis leans on that symptom pattern rather than a hands-on exam, most cold and flu cases are a good fit for a same-day telemedicine appointment.
Sinus Infection
A sinus infection often starts as an ordinary cold that lingers — if a runny nose, stuffy nose, and facial pain or pressure haven't cleared up after about ten days, that can be a sign it's turned bacterial, according to Cleveland Clinic.
Common symptoms:
- Facial pain or pressure
- Thick nasal discharge
- Headache
- Reduced sense of smell
A same-day telemedicine appointment is usually enough to sort out next steps — Sheena will let you know if in-person care is ever needed instead.
Sore Throat
Most sore throats are caused by the same viruses behind a cold or the flu, though bacteria — most notably strep — cause some too, according to the American Academy of Otolaryngology. A fever over 101°F, white patches on the throat, and swollen neck glands point more toward strep, though a throat swab is really the only reliable way to confirm it.
A same-day telemedicine appointment is a good starting point to sort out which is which.
Ear Infection
Ear infections are especially common in childhood because kids' Eustachian tubes are more easily blocked by nearby adenoid tissue — adults get them too, just less often, according to the American Academy of Family Physicians. Sharp ear pain is usually the first sign.
See Pediatric Care below for how this works differently for kids.
COVID
COVID-19 symptoms typically begin three to six days after exposure and can last up to about ten days, according to the World Health Organization.
A same-day telemedicine appointment can confirm next steps quickly, without a waiting room.
UTI
Burning or pain when you urinate is the classic sign of a UTI — one of the most common reasons patients reach out for same-day care.
There's a real safety line here, though — see UTI Care below for when it needs more than a same-day telemedicine appointment.
UTI Care.
A bladder infection — the most common type of urinary tract infection — happens when bacteria get into the bladder and multiply, according to the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK).
Common symptoms:
- Burning during urination
- Frequent urges to urinate
- Pain or discomfort in the lower abdomen
- Cloudy, bloody, or strong-smelling urine
Left untreated, a bladder infection can progress and become harder to treat — same-day access matters because starting treatment early keeps a simple problem simple.
A real safety note: a kidney infection often begins as a bladder infection that spreads upward, and it comes with its own warning signs — fever, and pain in your back, side, or groin, per NIDDK. If you have those symptoms alongside UTI symptoms, that needs in-person or emergency evaluation, not a same-day telemedicine appointment.
If this is your first UTI, a same-day telemedicine appointment is usually all it takes to get you feeling better. If UTIs keep coming back for you, that's a different conversation — Sheena will talk through prevention options and let you know if a referral ever makes sense.
Same-Day Care for Kids.
Walk the Line also sees children for select same-day concerns, including ear infections, pink eye, and school or work notes.
Ear infections are a childhood staple — nearly five out of six children will have had at least one by their third birthday, according to HealthyChildren.org (American Academy of Pediatrics). Ear pain that's worse at night, trouble hearing, fever, and drainage are the signs parents usually notice first.
Pink eye (conjunctivitis) is another common same-day concern — most cases clear up on their own within about five to six days without antibiotics, much like a cold, per HealthyChildren.org. Good hand hygiene is the best way to keep it from spreading.
Not every childhood illness is a good fit for a virtual visit. Sheena will let you know plainly if your child needs to be seen in person instead of by telemedicine.
A same-day telemedicine appointment can also result in a school or work note when appropriate.
What Doesn't Qualify for Same-Day Care.
Some symptoms need in-person emergency care, not a same-day telemedicine appointment. If you or a loved one has chest pain, difficulty breathing, a high fever in an infant, or anything else that feels like a medical emergency, please go to the nearest emergency room or call 911 instead of booking online.
Serving Dade City & Beyond.
Walk the Line is based in Dade City, Florida — the Pasco County seat, a short drive northeast of Tampa. Most same-day telemedicine appointments happen entirely by video or phone, wherever you are — no trip to Dade City required. If you're in Pasco County or the greater Tampa area and would rather be seen in person, that's always an option too.
Same-day telemedicine is available across every state where Sheena is licensed:

Can a sick child be seen through a virtual visit?

What doesn't qualify for same-day or telemedicine care?
Chest pain, difficulty breathing, a high fever in an infant, or anything else that feels like a medical emergency needs in-person emergency care, not a same-day telemedicine appointment — please go to the nearest emergency room or call 911 instead.

Yes, when appropriate — Sheena evaluates your symptoms and history during your telemedicine appointment and prescribes accordingly, the same way she would for an in-person visit.
